There are numerous services available to town residents to help ensure they are safe and secure living independently in their homes:

Jackson Neighbor Care Program is part of the Office of Emergency Management for the Town of Jackson. Working with the Selectmen, Police and Fire departments and Bartlett-Jackson Ambulance, the Office works to stay aware of those residents who may need extra help in the event of an accident or emergency.

This is not only a matter of public health and safety, but it helps to build and strengthen community relationships. If you would like to have the Police Department be aware of any special needs you may have, please complete this Form and return it to the Town Office.

To assist Emergency Responders should they need to come to your house – please complete this Emergency Contact Sheet and place it on your refrigerator.

2-1-1:
an easy-to-remember phone number to call to access available health and human services

Service Link:
ServiceLink is a program of the NH Department of Health and Human Services. Through contracts with local agencies around the state, ServiceLink helps individuals access and make connections to long term services and supports, access family caregiver information and supports, explore options and understand and access Medicare and Medicaid. It is designated as New Hampshire’s Aging and Disability Resource Center and the NHCarePath Full Service Access Partner providing services for individuals of all ages, income levels and abilities and administers programs and services such as Information Referral and Assistance, Options Counseling, NH Family Caregiver Program, State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), and Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP).

Gibson Center for Senior Services:
provides meals, transportation services and social and educational programs to seniors in the greater Mount Washington Valley area.

  • MWV Age-Friendly Community: Jackson is one of 11 participating towns in this effort hosted at the Gibson Center for Senior Services in North Conway. Membership in the AARP Age Friendly Communities Network provides a framework for assessing and improving the region’s ability to become more Age-Friendly.   • Aging Services Resource Guide: This resource guide was developed as part of the Mount Washington Valley Age-Friendly Community Initiative. Creating the guide involved extensive research by volunteers and every effort was made to include as many services as possible.
  • Stay Warm, Safe and Dry Program:
    This program is designed to enable seniors to remain in their homes and active in their community by providing the services of a licensed, vetted contractor who can be scheduled to complete the kinds of home projects that promote safety, prevent falls, allow early discharge from rehab and promote aging in place. Very importantly, income-qualified people will be connected with the USDA Rural Development program that can provide up to $7500 per household for eligible projects.   • Transportation Services Directory for Carroll County:
    This directory lists transportation services available in Carroll County, NH. Services listed in this directory include all publicly-funded “Dial-A-Ride” services and volunteer driver programs, taxis & private, for-hire car services, medical transportation services, client transportation programs of agencies that serve persons with disabilities, client transportation programs of other human service agencies, transportation operated by nursing homes for their residents. Visiting Nurse Home Care and Hospice:
provide a wide range of services in the home including skilled nursing and wound care, homemaker and home health care, long term care, medical social services, hospice and palliative care, and physical, speech and occupational therapy.

R.E.A.P Program: Referral, Education, Assistance and Prevention Program (REAP)
is a Northern Human Services program available to all older adults in the community which works to help them stay at home as long as possible and enjoy it.

Project Good Morning:
This program is offered to Jackson residents through the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and is ideal for those who are living alone in their homes. Each morning an individual must call into Carroll County Dispatch to inform them that they are safe and doing well. In the event a person does not call in, Dispatch will contact the Jackson Police Department and ask them to do a well-check to determine if further actions are needed. Jackson Public Library:

White Mountain Community Health Center:
provides comprehensive, high-quality primary care services and health education on a sustainable basis to women, men and children in the Mount Washington Valley community regardless of ability to pay.
